Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey made their debut appearance as a couple on the red carpet!
The young pair arrived in style at the Sydney premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One on a recent Monday. Marking their initial public showing as a couple, 19-year-old Robert Irwin, the son of the late renowned TV personality Steve Irwin, warmly embraced his new flame as they paused for a photo op.
Irwin chose a sleek, all-black suit for the event, while Buckey — niece of the late actor Heath Ledger — opted for a chic, asymmetric black dress featuring a side cutout.
This public event follows over seven months since the two were seen together during a casual walk in Queensland, Australia.
According to Australia’s New Idea, Irwin and Buckey have been observed grabbing burgers and fries from a local eatery before heading for some beach relaxation. Since then, the couple has been spotted at the Australia Zoo in December and at Perth airport in April.
In an interview last October, Robert Irwin, a dedicated animal conservationist and the author of the photography book ‘Robert Irwin’s Australia’, discussed how his elder sister Bindi Irwin, mother to Grace Warrior, encourages him to find a special companion. He told E! News about the humorous pressure his sister puts on him in the midst of the various rumors surrounding her family.
The star encountered an eager fan in June 2022, who made her intentions clear by asking for his phone number during a visit to the Australia Zoo. Her persistence went viral on a TikTok video in which she lauds him as being “so cool.” Demonstrating his gentlemanly manner, Robert deflected her request by directing her towards his Instagram profile.
The woman wasn’t quite satisfied with his response and informed Robert that she had already direct messaged him on Instagram the previous night about her upcoming visit. On hearing this, he assured her that he would “look it up” once he had her name.
