You might recognise her from Ghostbusters or Romancing the Stone, or you could recall seeing her in Playboy magazine back in her heyday. Kymberly Herrin, however, died on October 28, 2022, at the age of 65. Herrin, a lifelong resident of Santa Barbara, California, died at home surrounded by family.

The death of Herrin has been confirmed both online and in the Santa Barbara News-Press, where an obituary was also written. Theresa Ramirez, Herrin’s niece, posted on social media about her aunt’s death.
Although the Hollywood star’s cause of death is not specified in the obituary, the American Cancer Society is solicited for donations in order to fund additional breast cancer research. Therefore, it’s conceivable that Herrin died from an incurable case of breast cancer. Unacceptably many women still lose their lives every year to breast cancer.
Her full obituary reads as follows: “Kymberly Ellen Herrin died in Santa Barbara, California, on October 28, 2022. Kymberly’s parents, Sandy Herrin and Billie (Herrin) Dodson, welcomed her into the world on October 2, 1957, in Lompoc, California. She had lived in Santa Barbara all her life and was a stunning beauty both on the inside and out.

Kymberly completed high school in 1975 at Santa Barbara. She became a successful model and appeared on the covers of numerous publications around the world. Kymberly has also made cameo appearances in a number of other popular films, such as Ghostbusters and Romancing the Stone.
Kymberly was an avid sailor and traveller. She spent years living on and sailing a 75-foot boat around the Pacific Ocean, from the Pacific Coast to the Caribbean, via the Panama Canal and the Sea of Cortez and Baja. Kymberly’s family includes her mother, Billie Dodson, brother, Mark Herrin, nieces Theresa Ramirez and Stephanie Ross, nephews Brandon Herrin and Trevor Triegor, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Kymberly was loved and respected by many people, and her passing will be deeply felt by them.

Donations to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research in memory of Kym are welcome.
She appeared on many magazine covers during her modelling career, and she also appeared in Ghostbusters with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. In the March 1981 issue of Playboy, she made headlines as the magazine’s Playmate of the Month. She modelled swimwear for Swimsuits for All and fitness apparel for FIT magazine after her stint with Playboy.
Unfortunately, Herrin did not start a family of her own. Theresa Ramirez, Stephanie Ross, Brandon Herrin, and Trevor Triegor are her nieces and nephews, and her mother Billie Dodson and brother Mark Herrin also survive her.
We wish Herrin, who starred in Ghostbusters, a peaceful afterlife and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
