Stand-up comic Pete Davidson is facing legal consequences following an earlier incident where he drove a vehicle into a house in Beverly Hills.
The former “Saturday Night Live” comedian was indicted on Friday on a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving, as per a statement by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office shared with Fox News Digital.
The DA’s office stated in an email, “We’re under the impression that Mr. Davidson was involved in irresponsible driving behavior, which culminated in a severe collision with a residence. Fortuitously, the crash didn’t result in any significant injuries.”
The mishap unfolded on the night of March 4, slightly past 11 p.m. Police units were dispatched in response to reports of a vehicular accident at the junction of Rodeo Drive and Elevado Avenue.

According to Lt. Moreno of the Beverly Hills Police, Davidson was accompanied by a female associate during the accident. Reports suggest that Davidson was with his supposed girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, during the incident.
The car, a black Mercedes-Benz sedan, hit a fire hydrant, which incited the calls to the police.
“Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding might have played a role,” Lt. Reginald Evans reported to Fox News Digital, emphasizing that no arrests were conducted.
Evans had previously informed Fox News Digital that the police did not suspect the involvement of intoxicants in the accident.
Lt. Moreno further commented, “There were no injuries. No one in the house or the car was hurt.”
Davidson had appeared at the Kids’ Choice Awards presenting an award with his co-stars from “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” just before the incident.
The statement from the DA’s office underscored the potential harm of reckless driving, saying, “In 2022, we witnessed the highest number of traffic-related fatalities in Los Angeles in two decades. This is a distressing trend that demands attention. Therefore, it is paramount that we address all allegations of reckless driving with due gravity and ensure the culpable are held responsible.”
Davidson is slated to appear in court for his arraignment on July 27.
Davidson’s representatives have not yet responded to Fox News Digital’s request for a statement.
Neither Davidson nor Wonders have made any public remarks about the accident. The two got acquainted in 2021 during the shooting of the film “Bodies Bodies Bodies” released in 2022. Wonders, a “Generation” alum, also portrayed Davidson’s intermittent girlfriend in the 2023 Peacock sitcom “Bupkis,” which is somewhat inspired by the comedian’s own life.
The duo was first noticed together at a New York Rangers game in December, sparking relationship rumors. They were later seen getting comfortable on a Hawaiian beach in January. The couple had been spotted on multiple dates in recent months, and they had just returned from another Hawaiian vacation when the accident occurred.
Previously, Davidson was romantically linked to model Emily Ratajkowski after parting ways with Kim Kardashian, his girlfriend of nine months. In 2018, the “Meet Cute” actor revealed his engagement to Ariana Grande after a short-lived romance, but the relationship ended later the same year.
