After 27 years of marriage, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are navigating the rocky waters of separation, as confirmed by PEOPLE.

Richards, 54, and Umansky, 53, crossed paths for the first time in a 1994 nightclub. Richards was previously married to Guraish Aldjufrie, with whom she has a 34-year-old daughter, Farrah Brittany (née Aldjufrie).
The two fell in love quickly, leading to an engagement later that year and a beautiful wedding ceremony in January 1996. The couple added three more daughters to their family: Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15.
In 2010, the world got a peek into their family life with the premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo. As Richards maintained her prominence in the reality series over 12 seasons, the couple emphasized the authenticity of their relationship presented on the show.
“We’re just as real off-camera as on,” Umansky admitted to PEOPLE in a March 2013 interview. “We’re open books and don’t have skeletons in our closet. We’ve discussed our darkest secrets and we can handle them.”
Umansky has always stood by Richards’ side during the tumultuous moments involving her family, notably during the 12th season.
“I’ve always been 100% supportive of Kyle, regardless of her choices,” the successful real estate broker revealed to E! News in November 2022. “Whether she decides to mend fences with [her sister Kathy Hilton] or needs more time, I’m fully supportive.”
The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in January 2021, appearing more in love than ever.
“That’s a massive achievement we both take pride in,” Richards confessed to Bravo Insider that year. “It’s one of my most significant accomplishments. It’s an unusual feat to stay married for 25 years in Hollywood, and we take pride in setting a good example for our daughters.”
Umansky also reflected, “It’s incredibly meaningful. Frankly, it’s been effortless and feels like the time has flown by. It’s been an incredible journey. I absolutely plan on spending the rest of my life with her. Hopefully, there will be another 25 or even 50 years ahead of us.”
News of their separation emerged not long after Umansky dismissed speculation about their relationship trouble following a public sighting of Richards without her wedding ring.
“We’re not heading for a divorce,” Umansky asserted in an early April episode of Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Tamra Judge’s podcast, Two T’s In a Pod. “One nonsensical story sparked conversations among the Housewives, creating a storyline.”
Umansky added that viewers can expect to see him and Richards address these rumors in the forthcoming season of RHOBH.
