Taylor Swift savored an evening out with her friend Gigi Hadid at the famous Nobu restaurant in New York City last Sunday.
Taking a brief and well-earned hiatus from her colossal Eras Tour, the 33-year-old singer, renowned for her song Karma, has no performances lined up until June 23, when she will light up the stage in Minneapolis, having concluded her Pittsburgh concerts recently.
Swift, the celebrated Folklore artist, showcased a stylish black sleeveless jumpsuit paired with matching heels for the night out. Her hair was elegantly done up, and she carried a petite white handbag.
On the other hand, 28-year-old model Hadid opted for a white crop top with short sleeves, complemented by a mid-calf length pencil skirt. The mother of little Kai had also arranged her hair in an updo, and wore black loafers paired with white socks.
Hadid, the seasoned runway icon, embellished her look with stacked necklaces, while Swift chose to highlight her appearance with her signature red lipstick.
The duo exchanged smiles before entering an SUV and zipping off.
Their friendship, which has flourished for nine years, began when they were first sighted together at an Oscars afterparty in 2014.
Since their initial meet, the two high-profile personalities have been supportive pillars for each other, commemorating key milestones, including the birth of Hadid’s daughter Kai in September 2020.
They often shower each other with praise and admiration, an instance of which was when Swift celebrated her 30th birthday and Hadid posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
‘My T! An old soul celebrating 30 years here … and what a phenomenon you are. It’s rare someone can be inimitable yet still make hearts feel at home with innate generosity. I love you and can’t wait to celebrate you sister,’ she penned down.
Similarly, the Shake It Off singer, when featured on the cover story for Harper’s Bazaar, spoke highly of Hadid, ‘She is an innately kind and inclusive person who has managed to become a huge power player and businesswoman without ever compromising that.’
Despite the five-year age gap, Swift considers Hadid her go-to person for advice.
‘As a friend, Gigi is one of the first people I go to for advice. She has this incredible ability to see all sides of a situation and simplify it for you, to see the complexity of people,’ Swift disclosed.
‘Gigi’s #1 rule is to treat people the way she’d want to be treated, so she’s on time (or early) to work, says hello to everyone on set, asks them how they are, and actually listens to their response,’ Swift added.
In a recent TikTok video, Hadid revealed her favorite track from Swift’s latest album, Midnights, is Snow on the Beach, because ‘it reminds me of Taylor’s house in Rhode Island in the winter and it just makes me think of good times. Even though, you know, it could be a song about a lot of things but I love that it makes me happy,’ she shared.
