Taylor Swift’s ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ Countdown: Will It Be Worth the Wait

In a fresh promotional video, Taylor Swift, resplendent in her gem-encrusted Lover bodysuit from The Eras Tour, gave fans a hint of her forthcoming album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), on Saturday, June 24.

Swift captioned her social media post with a cryptic, “13 days until we bring Speak Now back to its roots,” giving fans a taste of her anticipated album.

In the video, an excerpt from “Mine,” the inaugural track of the re-recorded album, can be heard as Swift nonchalantly reviews a new vinyl release of Speak Now. She displays the vinyl, peering at the camera through the translucent purple disc.

The fitting lyrics of “Mine” echo in the background: “You are the best thing that’s ever been mine.”

The vinyl of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) that Swift proudly showcases seems to be the orchid marbled edition, which fans can pre-order from her online store for $38.99. Two other versions, a violet marbled one and a lilac marbled exclusive to Target, are also available on her webstore.

Swift made the initial announcement about the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) at a concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on May 5. This album is the third in a series of re-recorded versions, following Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) that came out in 2021. Swift’s Eras Tour is currently underway, featuring a stop in Minneapolis this weekend, along with a slew of newly announced international tour dates.

Swift expressed her excitement for the album’s release on her May 5 social media post, stating, “I’m thrilled to announce that my version of Speak Now will be released on July 7. When I created Speak Now, I was between 18 and 20, pouring my heart out in raw, honest lyrics and yearning laments. This album narrates a journey of maturation, of soaring and stumbling, and of survival. Six additional songs that I’ve liberated from the vault enrich this version, and I’m brimming with anticipation for our celebration of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) on July 7th.”

Swift shared her personal attachment to the album, adding, “I’ve always viewed this album as my own, and it swells my heart to say that, thanks to your support, it finally will be. Along with your unwavering belief in me, I see this music as one of the greatest things I’ve ever been privileged to call mine.”

The tracklist for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) includes six unreleased (From the Vault) songs that were not part of the original 2010 Speak Now album: “Electric Touch” featuring Fall Out Boy, “When Emma Falls in Love,” “I Can See You,” “Castles Crumbling” with Hayley Williams, “Foolish One,” and “Timeless.”
