Bethany Hamilton and Adam Dirks, her spouse, are celebrating the arrival of their fourth child!
The 33-year-old surfing enthusiast announced the birth of her “charming daughter Alaya Dorothy Dirks” through an endearing video posted on Instagram.
Expressing her gratitude, Hamilton, already a mother to sons Micah, 2, Wesley, 5, and Tobias, 8, wrote, “We are truly thankful to God for the privilege of family.”
“We feel privileged to bring up our children, to provide them with love, service, protection, and guidance throughout their lives! 🌸💖✨,” she continued.
Just a few weeks before her expected delivery date, the professional surfer showcased her dynamic spirit in a video. She was seen rollerblading effortlessly down the street while pushing a stroller with her son inside.
“Anticipating more family escapades 👼🏽☀️,” she noted while sharing the video.
Hamilton announced her pregnancy via an Instagram post in March.

“Adam and I, along with our entire family, are thrilled to be expanding our clan! I believe life is a present, and each life holds significant worth,” she conveyed. “Having been a mother for 8 years, I’ve come to appreciate my children more than my personal time. I place my family above other pursuits such as specific forms of wealth or success,” the courageous woman, who lost her left arm in a shark attack at 13, further wrote.
Hamilton, who inspired the 2011 film ‘Soul Surfer’, shared, “I believe a family brimming with joy is wealth, and knowing God is the most glorious and valuable wealth of all. We may chase many things in life, but what if we focused on the gift before us: the wonderful boon that is family?!”
