Michael J. Fox, renowned actor and ‘Family Ties’ alumnus, paid a heartfelt tribute to his spouse, Tracy Pollan, as she marked her 63rd birthday.
This past Thursday, Fox, known for his role in ‘The Good Wife’, penned an affectionate note to his wife, coupled with a series of delightful pictures showcasing them with their four children. These include their son Sam Michael, 34, twin daughters Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Frances, both 28, and youngest daughter Esmé Annabelle, 21.
“‘She envelops those she cherishes with her love, manifesting her feelings through her actions,'” Fox, 62, shared on Instagram.
He continued by extending birthday greetings, “A joyous birthday @tracy.pollan. My eternal summer girl, my love, my confidant, and the extraordinary, wonderful mother to our four magnificent children.”
The heartfelt note was signed off with, “Cherishing you always. 🌻🎂☀️ ❤️” to which Pollan replied in the comments section with an exuberant, “Adore this and you!!!!😍😍😍”
Famous friends of the couple also joined in to send birthday greetings to Pollan. Julianne Moore expressed, “A joyous birthday @tracy.pollan, we all adore you”, while Julianna Margulies chimed in with a simple, “Happy Birthday❤️❤️!”
The couple’s romance started on the sets of ‘Family Ties’ where Pollan played Fox’s girlfriend in 1985. Their relationship blossomed further during the making of the 1988 movie ‘Bright Lights, Big City’. Fast forward 34 years, the couple is still going strong.
In an earlier conversation with PEOPLE in March, they divulged the secret to their enduring relationship. Pollan stated, “I believe we truly pay attention to each other, we offer support in times of need, and also afford each other solitude when necessary.”
Fox further acknowledged Pollan’s role in their family, “Tracy provides our family with everything it needs. Any goodness in our family, any positive action we take, originates from her.”
The couple has weathered several trials, notably Fox’s ongoing struggle with Parkinson’s. When asked by PEOPLE about the key to their enduring bond despite the challenges, Pollan had remarked, “We expect the best from each other until we encounter the worst. This principle also applies to our parenting approach.”
Emphasizing the role of acceptance, Fox said, “Everything is about acceptance.”
Despite his health concerns, the ‘Back to the Future’ actor revealed that he relishes spending time with his family.
“I’m living my best life now because I truly enjoy my family,” he affirmed. “Tracy and the kids are incredible. While it might sound commonplace, or like a fairy tale, after over 30 years of marriage, we have managed to figure something out.”
