On Sunday, Shanna Moakler, Travis Barker’s former spouse, spoke out on Instagram about the recently announced pregnancy of Kourtney Kardashian, Travis’s new wife.
The 48-year-old American model disclosed that she had been aware of Kourtney’s pregnancy ‘for several weeks’ before the couple made it public, debunking speculation that the 47-year-old drummer was taken by surprise when he learned about his wife’s pregnancy.
At a Blink-182 concert on Friday night where Travis was performing, Kourtney, 44, shared the news with an audience-held sign proclaiming, ‘Travis, I’m Pregnant.’ This unique reveal pays homage to Blink-182’s legendary music video for All The Small Things, which features a similar sign.
Travis appeared utterly taken aback when he spotted the television celebrity amongst the crowd, sign in hand.
Shanna, Travis’s wife for four years from 2004 to 2008 and mother to their two children, Landon, 19, and Alabama, 17, quickly addressed the matter, stating that the pregnancy was ‘old news’ to her.
Through a social media exchange with a follower, she expressed: ‘I’m very happy for them and hope they have an amazing experience bringing a new life into the world.’
She further clarified: ‘I’ve been aware for weeks. This isn’t fresh news to me.’
It appears that the couple had already shared the news with their close friends and family before Kourtney officially announced her fourth pregnancy, and her first with Travis.
Last December, the reality television star revealed that she had put a halt to her IVF treatment 10 months earlier due to the severe depression and other side effects it caused her.
Kourtney is also mother to Mason, 13, Penelope, 10, and Reign, 8, her children with former partner Scott Disick, 39.
Kourtney’s sisters, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, shared joyous messages on Instagram to celebrate their elder sister’s pregnancy announcement. Kim shared a video capturing the emotional moment with the caption, ‘Congrats!!! We’re expecting a Kravis baby!!!’
Khloe joined in, sending her best wishes to the couple: ‘congratulations my darlings!!!’ She added, ‘My sister is having a baby!!!!!! I adore you and the baby immensely.’
Kim’s former assistant, Stephanie Shepherd, had earlier given a sneak preview of the poster Kourtney had prepared for her pregnancy announcement.
The snapshot showcased the reality star sitting on the floor, surrounded by a bicycle, an overflowing suitcase, and a few people, crafting the ‘Travis I’m Pregnant!’ sign. Stephanie captioned her post with a line from a Blink-182 song: ‘fell in love with the girl at the rock show.’
After nearly ten years of friendship, Kourtney and Travis sparked a romantic relationship in late 2020. They made their love Instagram official in February 2021, got engaged in October of the same year, and got married at a Santa Barbara courthouse in May 2022.
Following their wedding, the couple flew to Portofino, Italy to host an extravagant ceremony at the Dolce & Gabbana mansion with their friends and family in attendance.
Kourtney has been transparent with her fans about her attempts to conceive a child with Travis through IVF, first sharing her struggles on Hulu’s The Kardashians in 2022.
